James “Jimmy” Franklin Ward, Sr., 92, a longtime resident of Creedmoor, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC.
 
A native of Granville County, the son of the late William B. and Mary Elliott Ward. He was a member of Creedmoor United Methodist Church and retired from Butner Public Safety.
 
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Creedmoor United Methodist Church by Rev. Jonathan Jefferies. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor, NC.
 
Surviving are a daughter, Rosemary Ward Hamre (Chris Debause) of Butner, two sons, James F. Ward, Jr. and William Stephen Ward (Carol),both of Durham. Five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
 
Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 29, 2011 prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall in Creedmoor United Methodist Church.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Creedmoor United Methodist Church, c/o Loree Nelson, PO Box 383, Creedmoor, NC 27522 or to Duke Homecare and Hospice, 4321 Medical Park Drive, Suite 101, Durham, NC 27704.

I want you all to know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers. "Pop" Ward was a very fun-loving person. I always enjoyed being around him. I know he will be missed by all of you and many others.
