James (“Jim”) William Palm, 72, of Belmont, passed away unexpectedly on February 11, 2021.

Jim was born on November 23, 1948 to Walter and Virginia Palm.  He was born and raised in the Bay Area and attended many Bay Area schools.  He graduated from Carlmont High School in 1966.

Jim was known for his amazing baseball skills, being drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1966 MLB Amateur Draft from Carlmont, a car guru and all-around fix-it man.  He could often be found under a car or fixing computers.

Anyone who knew Jim, knew that he was the most kind and loving father, husband, brother and friend a family could ask for. His family meant more to him than anything. He will be missed deeply by his wife Lisa, daughters Michelle, Jaime and Maddisen and his five grandchildren that he adored.  He is also survived by his sister, Jacqueline Forrest.

I remember when I first met Jim. He had a red convertible. After checking to that there were no Highway Patrol around, He accelerated
slamming me in my seat. What acceleration!!! Jack Daily

I remember when I first met Jim many years ago I thought he looked just like Super Man. And in many ways that was exactly what he was. Super smart, super kind, super good looking, super proud of his family, super helpful, super caring and super talented in many ways.  He was also super nice to his Mother in Law.

Jim & I

February 16, 2021
Often when someone passes, you wish you could have had a deeper bond, and more stories with that soul; this is truly the case with Jim for me. Despite me being the family trouble maker, he still only had smiles and kind words for me.
He was so easy to talk to and left a lasting impression on many of my family and friends, many of whom only met him once or twice. He seemed to enjoy offering his guidance and help, and if you looked in my toolbox when I started carpentry and then electrical, most of those tools were given to me by him to get me started.
He reminded me of my own father in many ways, and even glimpses of myself, and I am honored to be a part of his legacy.
