James Chen Wu Yuan, 70, passed away on December 31, 2022, at his home in Los Angeles, California. He was the youngest child of Ping Hsien Yuan and Chao Hua Yuan, parents of Chinese descent, born on November 11, 1952, in Taiwan, Republic of China.

After attending Taipei College of Maritime Technology and traveling the world, James worked in international sales for Lite-On Technology Corporation in Taipei. Subsequently, he went on to found a successful electronics company, Actek Corporation, also in Taipei. After immigrating to the United States in 1994, he founded yet another successful company, United Technology, in City of Industry, California, manufacturing and distributing semiconductor memory, before retiring in 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Fanny Yuan, and two children, Alice and Henry Yuan, as well as his three sisters, five nephews, a niece, a grandniece, and numerous cousins.

A private ceremony of final disposition of ashes at sea will be held on January 19, 2023 at Long Beach, California.

先父袁正吾先生 (James Chen Wu Yuan),於2022年12月31日在洛杉磯家中病逝,享壽70歲。祖籍中國貴州貴陽省,父袁平先 (Ping Hsien Yuan), 母張兆華 (Chao Hua Chang),生於民國四十一年(西元1952年) 11月11日,中華民國台灣。

就讀台北中國海專後,曾環遊世界,在台北光寶科技擔任國際行銷。之後,在台北成立艾特電子公司。1994年移民美國,在加州工業城市 (City of Industry) 成功建立 United Technology,生產和銷售電腦半導體存儲器,於2005年退休。

妻Fanny、女Alice、子Henry、三個姊姊、五個侄子、一個侄女、以及許多表兄弟等親屬。

骨灰於2023年1月19日在 Long Beach 海葬。
