Mediterranean Cruise

July 5, 2015

We loved traveling with Jane and Jerry. I believe that we had just left Nice in this picture. We had such a great time on this cruise. One evening we were joking around over a glass of wine with one of the Phillipino waitresses when Jane came out with a real zinger. I wish I could remember what it was. The English language challenged waitress exclaimed, "Hey, I'm gonna' cut you out, Lady". We were pretty sure she meant "cut you off". We all just roared with laughter. To this day we still use the phrase "I'm gonna cut you out, Lady". It reminds us of how much fun Jane was to hang around.

I am so blessed to have totally scored on in-laws. I could not have ever asked or dreamed of any better. I will miss her quick wit and her funny sense of humor but I will always feel that those times were a gift and will live on in my memory as long as have one.

A Lovely lady

June 22, 2015

When we moved from Vermont to Oregon, we were thousands of miles from our nearest family.  We found our Oregon family at St. James Church and this very much included Jane (and Jerry).  Jane welcomed us and made us feel at home.  We'll never forget the Christmas eve meal at their home where we did not need ot miss being with our East Coast family, as we were clearly "home."  She was such a good person.  I can't imagine how hard this illness was for everyone, including Jane.  But nothing will ever erase the blessings she imparted on all those she touched.  Blessings to all the Calhoons during this time.

Judy Fruits

June 19, 2015

Mike and I were lucky enough to get to travel with Jane (I call her Mini Mom) and Jerry (Dad) quite a bit. We got to go to Scotland and on a Mediterranean cruise. While on the cruise we had a stopover in Genoa, Italy. Mini Mom with her insatiable swwet tooth, had a craving for "Judy Fruits". We must have walked miles all around Genoa to find these "Judy Fruits". Of course we didn't mind because we were experiencing Italy as we walked. After several hours we finally found something that would pass for "Judy Fruits". Jane said to us "you guys aren't going to get any?" We said "No". She said "well I'm not going to get any either". We nearly strung her up in the square. All we could do was laugh and love her.
