I knew my Mother-in-Law since i was 15 years old, So fortunate to grow up
with her, from working with her part time at South Hills Country Club in high school, traveling to Penn to drop off Bruce, learning to drive in her Mustang , sitting at Brentwood 4th of July parades, so many christmases, thanksgivings, cookies in tins! ...Mom had the biggest case of never wanting to miss anything and loved every moment of life and never ever wasted a minute!!!  She was a wonderful mom MIL, grandmother, friend to my mom, and a great addition to my family the Gillot's. Love you MOM

It has been a very rough few months, but I am really grateful for everyone's support,. As rough as it was, I have seen much worse. If Jane Haney left use with one message, it would be to focus on the good times and leave the world a better place when you leave it.

Mrs. Haney was such a special lady. She did so much for so many, and she was always one of everyone's favorite band moms. She really seemed to thrive on the chaos that was our band events, even when the event was assembling hoagies for four hours. When I picture her, she's smiling and her eyes twinkle. What a mighty little powerhouse she was! Her energy will be missed by so many. She raised a wonderful family, so I know you will all help each other.

With love, sympathy, and support,
Deb, Rob, Elliot, and Dorian Baran and Donna Angelo

Aunt Jane, and Uncle Ed, were almost as important to me as a child as my own parents. One of my earliest memories is Aunt Jane, still living in the home at 2549 Homehurst, with Gram, my mother and father and me before she married, brushing her teeth in the bathroom, when the house got struck by lightening. I remember her and Uncle Ed taking me with them to sandlot baseball games. I remember getting on a train by myself, with a box lunch prepared for me by Mom and Gram, and riding to Philadelphia to spend a week with my Aunt and Uncle. I remember Aunt Jane's inspiring commitment to public service and her community. And above all I remember her commitment to Janet, and keeping her as a vital, important and caring member of this family, at a time when for many that was not the norm. And I remember her for 74 birthday cards she sent to me, never missing a date. Barbara and I loved her, do love her and will miss her sorely.

With a heavy heart and tears running down my face, it is so hard to say I won't be able to hear her voice anymore. From the time she hired me at South Hills Country Club until her passing, there was never a time that we didn't laugh about some of the great times we spent together and cried for others. You were there for me during my difficult times and Jane your thoughtfullness was a gift I will always treasure.  My mother always said to me that when you are finished talking on the phone or even saying goodbye, always say I'll see you later or see ya. Goodbye is something you will say to someone you will not have the pleasure of seeing again. Well, today, or any other day I will never say goodbye to you. You will always be in my heart and be the superwoman I will always remember. JaneyHaney I miss you already

Jane was an inspiration to me personally and to the many leaders she helped become better Girl Scouts. She will always be a part of our Brentwood Girl Scout legacy. Prayers and loving thoughts to all of her family.
Mary Ann McSwigan

Excerpt from the Girl Scout poem:  Angel in Green

Though on earth my life was blessed, it's even more so today
For when I look down, I see my work as my girls show others the way."
"On earth Girl Scouting taught me to leave things better than before
And the same applies to that mortal place where life never was a bore.
Now having lived by that Girl Scouting rule in every earthly endeavor
I have become an Angel in Green and shall be a Girl Scout forever."

In Loving Memory of Jane Haney for her 40 years of service
to Girl Scouts
She is truly a Green Angel.

The few times I was with Jane at family reunions, I knew she and Ed were special and I was touched by how obvious it was that they were a vibrant team.  It was always a joy to be with them at the reunions. Love to her family. Suellen Brogan

It was my true privilege and honor to serve with Jane on the Brentwood School Board between 1983 and 1987. As an inexperienced board member, Jane really showed me the ropes and was a great mentor! Over the years, Jane took great pride in organizing our annual Christmas reunion for BOTA, or the Brentwood Old Timers Associationat her beloved South Hills Country Club. The BOTA reunions had truly become a cherished Christmas tradition. We are truly blessed and privileged to have called Jane a dear friend. She will be sorely missed, but we take solace in knowing that she is Heaven’s newest Angel, and is now reunited with Ed and Brice. Please look down and guide us from above, Jane.
RIP
Love,

Growing up in Brentwood, was like growing up in one big family. Mrs. Haney was the rock in that family. I remember as a player on the BHS girls basketball team, being at the bus and Mrs Haney's cheers as she passed out lunches as we boarded the bus. I remember that she handed me my HS diploma as the President of the Brentwood School Board. I remember her helping me research the history of Brentwood for a college paper and for writing me a recommendation letter for my first job. She was an inspiration and an advocate for not only me but for many of us growing up in Brentwood. She always had a smile and was kind. She always put others before herself. She became family and her presence will be missed. She is not alone in heaven.

Grandma Haney was a bright light in our lives. She will continue to be an inspiration to Sara and Millie will learn all about her GiGi as she grows up, as we hope to raise her to be like her great grandmother - kind, thoughtful, intelligent, and selfless. I will miss her greatly, and counted 126 text message exchanges between her and I in 2021 alone. Mainly focused on Millie and Razorback basketball, she was always checking in on our family and we will miss her presence. I hope to see you on the other side Gram!

I have known Mrs. Haney for almost 60 years and have always had the greatest respect and admiration for her as she was such a wonderful woman. She was a good friend of my mom and dad and and did so much for the Brentwood community - especially the library. She always greeted you with a smile and was so upbeat and optimistic - she would brighten anyone's day. She will be missed - she was truly a great person from a great generation. Tina and I extend our deepest sympathy to her family and loved ones.

We tried to come up with a word to describe the sense of loss that we are feeling right now, but we don't think there is one in the English language. We are trying to replace that pain with a sense of gratitude for having 92 years of one of the most loving, caring and compassionate women that the world has ever known. Mom was a force of nature and cared deeply for her family and her community. She combined her compassion with intelligence, strength and bravery which she carried with her until the end.  She couldn't speak at the end, but her beautiful eyes still communicated her love for all of us. I am grateful beyond words for the network of family and friends that my Mom had around her, since you guys have been a well of comfort in this difficult time. Thanks for everything you have done.

Jane was indeed an admirable and inspiring woman. I am so glad that I had the good fortune to know her as I was growing into a woman. The laughs I will always remember range from having to take care of dozens of errands for her before we could enjoy ourselves at Linden or before Brian and I could borrow the Citation for our dates to hiding (drunk) Brian from Jane at Bruce and Andrea’s wedding.
There are no more errands to take care of Jane. Rest easy.

I am heartbroken I have lost my fellow Pirate fan and stinger buddy. I so enjoyed exchanging texts about our Buccos and have no one to replace that special bond. I will have a Stinger tomorrow at Happy Hour in her memory.

Rebecca and I offer our sincere sympathies for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
