When I was around 14/15, Granny would have picked me up in the summer months around 9AM when the schools were off and we would have went up to the stables to take the horses out on their daily hack.
On one particular day we were travelling along Cairn Road Carrickfergus in the direction off Loughmourne Dams. Pippa, Granny’s beloved horsey had an usual fear of “SLOW” signs painted on the road. As we approached it I could see Pippa’s ears prick up at the sign. Granny, reins in one hand and feg in the other hand appeared unfazed. Suddenly Pippa cat leaped over the marking and bolted. Granny flung backwards with her head bouncing off Pippas backside and neck. After coming to a halt and all being calmed down.
