People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die... Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind, but friendship is clairvoyant.

Beloved Janelle, the joy of knowing you still burns in my heart. I remember a moment after a sweat lodge, sitting in our camper buss, I said to you, "you know, I am really happy" and I felt I was melting in to you. I love you always! You touched so many and the ripples still flow.

"We live in deeds, not years; in thoughts, not breaths;

In feelings, not in figures on a dial.

We should count time by heart-throbs.

Happy birthday Janelle. xoxo

Hi Janelle, I imagine you are smiling down on your son from Heaven. You would be so proud of him. He married a lovely girl and they are expecting their first child this spring. It breaks my heart you aren't here to love your first grandchild, I know you would be the best grandmother in the world.

Dearest Janelle, during your lifetime you exemplified only love, compassion, kindness and gentleness - you had such a beautiful spirit. I can only aspire to try and emulate the same qualities in my own lifetime. Thank you for being my best friend and a second mom to my boys. We love you and miss you. xo

It is true, hardly a day goes by that I don’t think of you Janelle. A season or life time, your impact on my life and my heart runs deep. I am thankful for the time we walked together in life. I don’t know the secret yet but if it is the case that we may see each other again, it makes me smile to think of that day. Thank you for your amazing love, patience, wisdom, and light.

Dearest Janelle, I was getting ready in my bathroom the other day and suddenly you came to mind...Pictured you getting ready to go see Ryan Adams with me at University of Chicago! Feels like a different lifetime. I have lost other dear friends since your passing...It never gets easy experiencing a world w/o Janelle in it. Know you are loved, prayed for, and missed.

She was my oncology nurse 18 years ago. I just tried to find her on an Internet search and this is what came up. I am stunned and sorrowed to hear of her passing. She was an exceptional nurse and a wonderful human being.
