Madam Janet Omonike Adufe Ayilara (nee Onikeku) was born in 15th February 1945 at No 5 Owu Totoro at Agbole Onikeku Abeokuta. 

Her mother's name was Madam Alice Agbeke Onikikeku, her father's was Ezekiel Atanda Onikeku; both of blessed memory. 

She attended Owu African Primary School Ita Iyalode Abeokuta. She worked briefly with Top Brewery Abeokuta. She later learnt Phamarcy, and practiced for many years in Abeokuta. 

She moved to Ibadan with her husband in early 70's. 

She laid her hand on many businesses before settling down for dried meat (ku-n-di) trading. She started the trade at old Dugbe market and moved later to Shop AK17 at Aleshiloye market in the 1980's where she was known and loved by all till death. 

Her kundi business made her to travel far and near, including Kano and Borno States, as well as Niger Republic.

Madam Janet Ayilara was born into Christian family of African Church denomination.            Despite her husband being member of Baptist Church, she attended African Church with the permission of her husband. She was baptized and confirmed, and was an active member of Band of Charity (BOC). 

Madam Janet married her husband, Chief Olalere Goke Ayilara in February 1965.                    She had six children: Mrs. Funmilayo Adesumbo, Snr. Apostle Olusola Ayilara, Mrs Laide Agbona, Mr. Kolawole Ayilara, Mr. Folabi Ayilara and Deaconess Olubukola Mba Odike. 

She was the first born of her parents, and had four Sisters; Late Mrs. Esther Ilori, Late Mrs. Folake Abeni, Mrs. Arike Oketokun, and Mrs. Omoshalewa Yusuf.

She left many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Left to mourn also is her husband and two co-wives, Madam Ganiyat Ayilara and Madam Moni Ayilara. 

Mama was adherent follower of Awolowo. She was at different times an active member of Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alliance for Democracy (AD) and the All Progressive Party (APC)

Her passion for politics was selfless and strong drive for good governance.
