Janet Ann Jocus  May 5, 1948 - March 11, 2013

Janet Jocus, age 64, of Lawrenceville, NJ passed away from this earth on March 11,  2013 after a courageous and brave battle with pancreatic cancer with her baby sister by her side. 
Janet was born and raised in New Brunswick, NJ, graduated from NBHS and Douglass College, Rutgers U, later relocated to Brooklyn, NY and her final residence being in Lawrenceville. 
She was predeceased by her parents Paul and Celia, older sisters Mary Ann and Diane and older brother Paul.  She is survived by her daughter Felicia of NYC, brother Peter and wife Debra of MA, brother Thomas and wife Joanne of NJ, sister Susan and husband Robert of NC, sister Margaret of NJ, sister-in-law Ann, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Janet was a loving, compassionate and dedicated free spirit. She was an avid reader and had a voracity for the English language and not only became an editor of books, was an ESL instructor at Rutgers and also a tutor. Being a great cook, she did enjoy a good cookie or pie. She was a natural landscaper, an avid organic gardener and an artist in her own right with a great sense of style and flair. Janet shared her love of music and dance.  A passionate dream of hers which she was able to fulfill was playing her drum at different venues (check out youtube) and was a regular at Robin's Nest.  With Janet's glowing smile and vivacious personality, she will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. 
Interment service will be held at the Steelemantown Cemetery  Woodbine, NJ at 12 noon Saturday March 16, 2013.  
Janet's wish and final resting place will be fulfilled in an idyllic natural setting within the pine trees. At Janet's request there will be no viewing. 
Please wear shoes appropriate for possible muddy grounds in the forest.
