     Janet Lee Duke, 76 of Lubbock, TX Joined Our Lord and Savior Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 11:00 am C.S.T. at The Fellowship, 9417 4th Street, Lubbock, TX. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm (M.S.T.) at Fort Sumner Cemetery, Fort Sumner, New Mexico. Brother Dan Chrestman will officiate. Pallbearers will include James Hitt, Colin Cobb, David Sullivan, Rowdy Jones, Kenny Jones, Billy Linnenkugel, Jayton Michell, Billy Duke Jr., and Charlie Madgwick. Honorary bearers Robbie Robinette, Chris Madgwick, Gerald Don Cortese, Vern Steese, and Joe Cox. Janet was born February 3, 1937 in Beulah, Colorado to the home of Lucian G. and Della (Brandenburg) Farmer. She graduated from Raton High School, Raton, NM and she and her family moved to Fort Sumner, NM. Janet met and Married Hollis Ray Duke of Fort Sumner, NM on December 25, 1955 at the First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner, NM. She was a devoted military Air Force wife for 28 years. Janet and Hollis made their home in Clovis, NM, Misawa, Japan, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Anderson AFB, Guam, Clark AFB Philippines, and Lubbock, TX. Janet was the Bowling Center Manager at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, TX and Altus AFB in Altus, OK. She received the Bowling Center Manager of the Year award numerous times. Janet was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, ceramics, served as a Girl Scout leader, and cheerleader sponsor, Sports Team Mother, She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner, Hurlwood Baptist/The Fellowship in Lubbock, TX where She served her Church and The Lord in various positions... She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Ray Farmer and Clyde Farmer and a sister in law Emma Farmer. Survivors include her husband Hollis Duke of Lubbock, a daughter Cindy Duke Madgwick and her husband Charlie of Lubbock, a son Billy R. Duke of Lubbock, and a former daughter in law Sherry Duke. Also surviving are four grandchldren Jimmy Michell, Billy Ray Duke, Ashley Duke, Chaleigh Duke and a grand daughter in law Heather Michell all of Lubbock, TX, Chris & Elizabeth Madgwick of Waldo, WI, five great-grandchildren Jayton Michell, Adison Michell, Rylon Michell, Gracie Michell all of Lubbock and Teddy Madgwick of Waldo, WI
