It is very sad to be separated from you Shush. We met only twice, first in 2012 on your way to Kibwezi and for the second time, recently, when we discussed family and church. Know that I still hold on to your words of wisdom. Thank you for taking in my mum and caring for her back then. She sent me to say that she is thankful but sorrowful. We thank you for your boundless love, great wisdom, and compassion. We miss you dearly. Forever loved.

Go in Peace and Rest well, Shush.

Let tear flow freely
let the gloom of the day be felt
let the people talk in low tones
let each morn in their choice way.

It is a sad time for Itetani, Tulimani, Mbooni, Makueni and Kenya.

Janet you have left to rest the rwst of the dead. To the painless state for you but to us left behind, we are pained.

We cry our hearts out, we are at a loss for your sudden departure.

Your smile was a charm, your generosity in bounties.
Your characteristic white hair, a glow of life well lived.
You challenged humanity that live can be true and happy, that we can achieve anything we set out to do; we miss you.

Your Christian values shall remain forever with us. Your respect to to all was evident. Aki Janet you did not tell us you are going the long journey.....

I can't tell you farewell because I will remain with you in my heart.
You and Tata are .My great hero's that have gone away from me physically but eternally embedded in my heart.

I want to be like both of you.
Loving, kind, honest, pure and true.

Our church is crying so is the location, the Ward and the country even other nations; you are truly international.

I love you mama.

My tribute: This is a post that is difficult to write… Recently, my beloved grandmother passed away on 29 th March 2021 of a short illness and we will miss her terribly. She was one unique and special lady and the loss of her is felt deeply by many, even though she lived a full life.

The love of Shosh was unique. God must have given grandmothers to us to liven up our lives, to make our lives more complete, to make us well rounded and better human beings. She played a big part in my childhood and youth and I can remember so many places I have had wilderness camping experience with her as PATHFINDERS and at times I could find myself sitting beside her as she prepare the dishes for the young campers, she prepare with special love. She taught me a lot about love and the meaning of family. She has never been just ‘my grandmother’, but my inspiration, my friend, my companion, my guide and my guardian.

Still, we can’t believe our lovely Grandma is gone. We will miss our Grandmother, but her spirit and strength, lives on in each of us and in the lives that she touched; all those who have been touched by the love, strength, conviction, wisdom, and beauty of her soul.

Shosh! – You truly were a unique, special woman! You may have passed on, but our only blessed hope is that, in that beautiful morning, when Jesus raises up the righteous, you'll be amongst the number and we shall forever rejoice. Amen! Fare thee well.....

Auntie Janet none will ever fit your shoes. Your wish was to unite people irrespective of their social status. You had a big heart to everyone and we have testimonies that many are what we are today because you. You helped many direct or indirect. Each one will eulogize you differently on how you touched him or her. Let's all accept the will of the Lord that you've rested the labour of this world. You will be an icon in the family and friends who knew you. The challenge is who will take over the manton of your good deeds. May your soul rest in peace.

Auntie Janet was a real role model in my life, a staunch Christian, fully dedicated to the service of the Lord. Your memories will forever linger in my mind. Your love, kindness, laughter and sweet words. Always ready to help where need be, ready to listen and encourage everyone without favour, that was you dear Aunt. You loved us as your own, to the larger Mutisya family you stand out as an icon. I will dearly miss you. Till that Resurrection morning, sleep well. We shall meet again in our heavenly home, never to part again.

Sometimes life presents us with very sad moments. Like the death of our beloved ones. We mourn for each one of those who leave us. This particular loss of Aunt is very painful one to me.. She brought me up as part of her children, indeed I called her “mathe”. She has done so much that I can’t describe here, but most importantly she led me to know God. She taught me virtues of life, I proudly say I am what I am because of her. Forever I will cherish what you taught me. Till we meet again at the trumpet call….. Amen

A selfless soul, A legend full of wisdom, love and charisma with an everlasting smile
A role model, A mentor, A counsellor, a consultant and an icon in the entire Mutisya family
With time for everyone, young and old, rich and poor
Ready to reach out to anyone in any situation as need arises
That was auntie Janet we all cherished.

Always with an answer and solution to every difficult situation
The term 'impossible' never existed in your mind map
Your spiritual zeal and commitment was really a challenge to most of us
You put God above everything else and indeed He blessed you to bless others
You showed us the importance of family values, left by our forefathers
Aunt Janet, indeed you have left a void in our hearts but your legacy will forever live!

.....................................................############.......................................................

I personally will dearly miss you. Three years ago when you spent a night in my house, you challenged me with your 'Early waking up skills'........"early to sleep and early to rise"..........Makes someone Healthy, Wealthy and Wise!

Shine all the way and dance with the Angels. R.I.P Auntie Janet.

I remember her for being real and a sush who had full of wisdom, advise, compassion and so welcoming.
Sometimes back my family and I went to visit her and we were not in good terms with my wife then I spelled the beans on the table to tell her what I was going through in my marriage after finishing by saying my marriage was under "sieke".....
Susu laughed and said using is soft and calmness voice and I qoute"Kelly ndoa Ni kuvumiliana and every marriage has got its own weakness learn to forgive each other"then she called a lady who was in the kitchen "maetee muselle maye!!!
I wish I could be near you to give you my testimony of my family......and finish by saying Sabina my wife" etea Susu muselle aye"
Lala salama Susu.....Koma nesa say hi to Dad mumo Bita.

Aunt Janet had this calm and soft voice accompanied by a sweet welcoming smile (never saw her angry or raise her voice ever). I have had the opportunity to know her, talk to her, listen to her, and just simply admire her determination and hard work even in her old age. As a child growing up we knew her as "aunt wa mikate" coz she always brought us something upcountry whenever she visited and as for all kids growing up upcountry, bread was a real deal and good start so every time we saw her car we knew there was bread (one would just think a bread).... yes Sir/Ma'am a bread.... All i can say is that aunt live her life with purpose and i can only reminisce her presence in her well lived life. Good ones will go to even.. and SHE went to heaven where good ones belong (say hello to Daddy Mathew).
Let's all celebrate her life and try to mirror what we saw or learned from Aunt Janet .
Fare thee well aunt and may your soul rest in perfect peace

Aunt Janet was more than an auntie to me and my siblings. She lovingly raised me after high school, in her house alongside her children and my older late brother, David.

She was a mother to us.

I raise the Lord's name on high... because we were truly touched by an angel, who has now returned home to Heaven.

The world has lost one angel, and Heaven has gained one.
