Remembering you & the Lite-Brite
Good morning my sweet Jan, It is twelve years since God took you to heaven..Just yesterday Gram was watching cousin Justine's two little girls. Sophie 3 & Brie1..
I was playing with play dough with Sophie & I remembered you & I playing with the the lite-brite before you lost all of your sight. Just a wonderful memory I have with you.
Gram told Sophie as soon as Brie gets a little older (because of all the little pieces) I would get her one. She seemed excited when I explained how she would be able to make many colorful designs..
Still missing you my sweet Janice.. Love you forever..Gram... xoxo
Our wonderful hikes through Sapsucker Woods
Sapsucker Woods Ithaca, Tompkins County
Perhaps you'll see the yellow-bellied sapsucker among the more than 225 bird species recorded in these famous woods on the grounds of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
This sanctuary in Ithica New York/ Cornell University is where Janice, Annette & I did many hikes so Janice could listen to the many species of birds there.. She always amazed us being able to recognize what ever bird was singing..Just one of the many things she loved to do.. It leaves such a wonderful memory of her being in one of her many happy places...... Love and miss you my sweet granddaughter..

Janice & Karla
"Karla Gilbride Wow, there are so many... One of my favorites is when we wrote a story together alternating pages (she'd write a page and even if it ended in the middle of a sentence, I had to pick up where she left off and write the next page, etc.) and then we recorded our creation onto a tape. We also wrote each other such long braille letters that they had to be mailed in big cardboard boxes because no envelope was thick enough!"
a strong young woman
My husband first spotted Janice in church and said there is a young girl with a cane. I was a guide dog user. Janice said she loved dogs. Then a few years later we met at the library in Center Moriches when her grandmother brought her there. I was speaking for the Guide Dog Foundation. She was so ready for a guide dog. Her blindnees didn't stop her it was other factors. I met all three of her dogs. she had so much knowledge about dogs and when many of us who were guide dog users would ask her a question she always found the answers about dogs, there care, there personalities and behavior. Her emails were always a wealth of information for all . She loved Doug the trainer. Even at the end she showed strength and I was honored to know this strong young woman.
