On August 10, 1958, Rev. James and Inell Core Ramsey, welcomed their 10th child, a baby girl, and they named her Janice (Jan).

Jan attended the Chambers County School System. At an early age, she joined the St. James Baptist Church in Lanett, Alabama. She was an active member and served on the Usher Board.

Jan was employed with West Point Stevens for over 30 years.
On February 28, 2015, God saw she was getting a little weary so He did what He knew best. He came and stood by her bedside and whispered “Come go home with me and rest.”

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. James and Inell Ramsey; her brother, Calvin Lanier Ramsey; her sisters Mary Nell Boyd and Marilyn Ramsey Brock.

To eternal cherish her memories; one daughter, Domonika Ramsey Johnson; Lanett, AL; one son, Tony Dozier, Jr., West Shawmut, AL; one granddaughter, Trinity Dozier, West Shawmut, AL; four sisters, Hattie Ramsey, Mildred (Wille) Trammell, Helen (Ronnie) Washington, Lanett, AL; Gloria (Elijah) Marshall, West Point, GA; six brothers, Cecil (Josephine) Ramsey, Lemorris Ramsey, James (Janie) Ramsey, Jr., JT Ramsey, Kenny Ramsey, Lanett, AL; Frankie (Sara) Ross, LaFayette, AL; several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly; a longtime friend, Minister Hattie Bridges, Lanett, AL, other relatives and many friends.
