I met Jason through a mutual friend and it was as if he kept his distance until he seen I was sticking around awhile so he could get to know me and vice versa. I was an outsider and well outsiders don't always stick around. I'm grateful for sticking around the 7 years or so that I did. Once Jason gets to know you he would do anything for you. I do regret never going on a hunt for snake root with him though. Jason was a cool cat that had no problems calling me out when I ran my mouth and I'm fine with that. I respected that in the long run. Jason had my back in alot of area's, even saving my soul at the horseshoe one night. there was a 100 % chance that if Jason didn't vouge for me that night I would have been hurt, beat up pretty bad or at the least regretted my choice of jackets that night. My brother is a therapist and he gave me a full length black coat  a. k . a  trench coat, . wearing something like that had a lot of people thinking I was a cop in the Wrong place. Once he told me he had to stand up for me I threw that damn coat in the trash can before leaving the parking lot. I'm a dumb ass at times and that night about cost me. Jason wasn't to keen on outsiders knowing about that salvage yard in the middle of the country in Ellis county, he had no problem calling out the person who showed it to me while im standing right there. You knew where he stood on a lot of issues and I respect the hell out of that. He is missed that's for sure..

To the ones who shared a love for Schmidty in a way like I did. I met him when I was in elementary school, 4th grade at Roosevelt elementary which was up the street from where we lived.  See his parents house sat in the alleyway down 3 houses from my grandparents.  My younger brother Brandon and Jason became friends fast cus they shared alot of common interests.  Tearing up old bicycles was one of their favorite after school activities.  Jason was willing too teach or show my brother ways too do things that were of a man's sort. My brother learned alot of good life skills from Jason thru the years. Working on cars, tinkering with things that drove my grandmother nuts cus it never got put away, always left outback on the concrete slab that once was made for my grandfathers company work truck, Sellars Tractor. So it was a 3/4 ton truck so lots of space for them too make a mess... lol!! Our grandpa would leave the little shed out back unlocked so bubba and Schmidty, could use tools if needed. On too different memories... I can remember him riding his bike which I think was all blacked out and black seat with the seat lowered down pretty low. He would ride over too our house and hardly ever remember him in a shirt during summer. Ask if bubba was home, and usually he was. They would go riding I dont know where but I'm sure it was always adventurous. As we got older kids around our age would all meet up at 10th in main for cruise night.. we called it draggin main. Was an absolute blast! Schmidty always hung out on our corner and we had so much fun!! Innocent fun among a bunch of teenagers hollering and laughing, and occasionally if u were lucky u might see a fight or hear about one lol. I never had feelings for Jason like alot of other girls did, but maybe like a brother or as close as a brother. He never made fun of me, or acted embarrassed to be my friend, never lied too me and always gave me a hug when he would see me.  Jason's sister Angela is same age as I am. We graduated together and had alot of the same friends, she has always been one of my dearest friends. She has a genuine soul, and beautiful heart. That girl loved her brother, and idolized him in many ways. She was captured by his personality, and strength of his will. Which I hope Angela has realized she has those same qualities as her brother had. Those two were back support for each other in alot of ways. Which is how its suppose to be, u have your families back. Seeing Jason at the Horseshoe as we got older was always a good time, cus well we both had usually been drinking and both of us naturally were very flirty, even with each other sometimes!! He always starred, not at my eyes when we talked... and him realizing I caught him starring at my chest level a few times, he would get embarrassed and chuckle a little and say what... I'm sorry( in a humorous voice). Never could you had ever gotten mad at him cus he meant no harm... it was just him. He had a love for music (80's rock). And he fit the stereotype as well. Blue jeans, a sleeveless muscle shirt, or no shirt and a leather jacket and a long hair. He loved too hot rod his cars and work on the motors. He loved women, too say in a better way of saying that.. he wasnt afraid too be a gentleman too a woman even if he just met her. He had lots of female friends, from a young age on. I know I have lots of memories of Jason and I and i am thankful he was able too be a part of my life journey. I'm just very heart broken his life story ended so early. But one way we can continue too enjoy his life he had was things like this, and talking bout good times..even some of the bad times cus with good comes bad. Anyone who was a part of his life was blessed cus he was one of those 'Angels among' among us here on earth. With all that said.. I hope one day I will get too reunite with him so we can catch up!! It was truly a blessing too know u Schmidty. Loveyoumore my friend

His Life

Jason's life

October 16, 2019
Jason was a hard worker and took a lot of pride in whatever it was he was doing. He was a loving father, son, and friend to many.  He loved playing pool, working on cars, riding motorcyles, and fabricating about anything anybody ever needed! He had a contagious laugh and a warm smile that will never be forgotten!

He could always make me laugh

August 13, 2019
I just found out that my Grandpa died and I was crying inconsolably and Jason walks back to our bedroom takes everything off but his socks and walks back passed me with the silliest looking grin on his face and I could hear him in the kitchen banging around cussing a little bit he comes back with a huge plate of chocolate chip pancakes and he looks at me and goes "has anybody ever made you naked pancakes? I didn't think so!" And needless to say my sad tears turn to happy tears! I laughed so hard and who wouldn't? It was so sweet.. He had such a huge heart once u got 2 know him. That is just 1 of so many memories im so grateful to have!! Love you Jason! Thank u for being in my life while you were!!
