His Life

Jason Paul Peck

September 17, 2015

It is indeed difficult to start to write, in a few paragraphs, what this man's life was all about. As a friend, I know that his life was centered around enjoying and valuing the relationships he had. If you had the chance to know him, you know then that Jason was the picture of living life to the fullest.

As a son, his development into a young man, must have been the most rewarding experience for Theresa and Dave. From the childhood photos of Jason, one can imagine how many ridiculous scenarios that an intrepid and inquisitive child like Jason could get him self into. (And how he could get himself out of any trouble he had gotten himself into with his piercing eyes, charming smile, and infectious laughter!) For his sisters, to watch the Jason of young, turn into the athletic phenom, the academic powerhouse and caring brother that Jason became, was truly an inspiration for them, as it was for all of us.

As a family man - there has never been a man in his early thirties as proud as Jason was of his family. Constantly discussing the achievements, from academic to athletic, of his two sisters, Sabrina and Vanessa. And although it probably doesn't need to be said, Jason's favorite was, of course, Tucker (their yellow lab that Jason scooped up after his college years in Boston). This doesn't mean that Milly and Sophie (Jason and Lydia's cats) didn't feel his constant and loving eye - they were his wake up call every morning, which, probably was why they competed with Tucker as his favorite, as Jason's love for early mornings never quite developed. Most recently, Jason started to learn how to be an amazing Uncle to Sabrina and Marcin's two children, Layla and Sophia, and he was learning fast that if he flashed that famous smile and a few of his funny faces, he was going to have them in the palm of his hands. His time as an uncle was far too short.

Jason found his life Partner in Lydia in High School at SAS, however, Jason needed a few years of working on the muscles and working on the charm before he could approach Lydia and finally win her over as the sensitive, caring and fun loving man he was to become. They spent their early days together traversing the world, calling Singapore, Los Angeles, a little Boston thrown in there until finally and most recently, relocating to Abu Dhabi, UAE.  Jason and Lydia shared a strong and powerful love. Incredibly generous friends and gracious hosts they quickly became the social anchors in all of the places they lived. Their door was always open for friends, memory making and adventures.  Jason and Lydia could take on the waves of Bali or the slopes of France when they were together; their shared a love of life and of each other that was deep and beautiful.

There's no sport Jason couldnt' play. His pure love for softball is the clear front runner, but shouldn't take away from his natural ability in all other sports, save basketball - he was a horrible basketball player (ha - ha, just joking). I think his most attractive and stand out quality as a sportsman was his ability to always play with dignity and honor, and, on very rare occasions, to loose with composure and humility. His legacy as an athlete will live on through all of the teammates and competitors who had the pleasure of playing with or against him.

Finally - to speak briefly about his style of friendship: it was a once in a lifetime experience. One that we were all banking on to have until we grew old together. And now, we will live together bonded through the memory of our truly great friend Jason Paul Peck. His memory will bring us together in ways we can only imagine, and we hope that we can honor his style of friendship by forgiving past grievances and atoning our selfish and closed ways when times are difficult and when friends and family prove challenging. We will learn from you, Jason, on how to be a true friend and a loving family member.

- Forever you will remain in our memories
