His Life

A native of Shiloh, GA., Mr. Branford was the son of the late Leonard and Docia Melson Branford.

Residing in Columbus most of his life, he retired from Ft. Benning's Clothing Issue Facility(Civil Service) and later retired from St. Francis Hospital as a Operating Room Technician. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Paul C.M.E. Church in Shiloh, GA. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alfonza Williams Branford; a daughter, Glenda Hardnett and his siblings.

Surviving are his daughters, Brenda Chambers(Tommie), Ozelle Moore and Gloria Strode(Tollie); four grandchildren, Travis Chambers(Kia), Pastor DeQuindrae Hardnett(Denitra), Joy Burkes(Jerald) and Tollie Strode III(Jasmine); eight great grandchildren, Travis II, Tyler, Taylor, Charity, Sebastian, Comari, Lyrik and Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
