Chip's 1st Birthday
Gee-Gee's House
Now Don watch where you are going!
Mom grew up on Reed Street (it didn't have a name then) in Bakerton, PA and lived one house way from Dad's family. She didn't like'"little Donnie Foreman" much. Once, she "borrowed" his bike and crashed it. Her brother (Bill Harris) was friends with Don and they remain good friends to this day.
Don's family moved away from Bakerton but Mom and Dad met up again and this time it was love. They were married in the Methodist church in Bakerton on a lovey evening on June 21st and were married 64 years.
It often sounded to me like their life in Bakerton was a Norman Rockwell painting. Mom was in the high school band. She lost the reed from her clarinet during a half time show and they held up the football game while they searched for the missing reed.
Her mother wanted all her children to get a further education. Bill and Eileen went off to college and Mom went to nurshing school in Johnstown PA. She was very homesick while away at school but did well in school and was proud of her nursing degree.
