Her Life
February 23, 2014

Mrs. McAteer was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 23, 1933, the daughter of the late Eva Christine Grantham Gunn and Junie Jarron James. After the early death of her father her mother remarried a dear man, the late, Norman R. Gunn who became her daddy. She was a Christian by faith. Mrs. McAteer began her professional career as an Executive Secretary with the Fadel Corporation. After many years of hard work and determination she was appointed to the esteemed position of Executive Vice-President. After retirement she and her husband, J T McAteer moved to Heard County Georgia where they, formed Braden House, a produce and homemade treat company. It was here that Mrs. McAteer’s talent in the kitchen was highlighted. Her cooking skills and Mr. J T’s personality made this a very successful and popular business. With all of her endeavors there was very little extra time, but when she found it she loved to read. She loved her family and enjoyed doing wonderful things for them.

She is survived by two daughters, Tracie Chancellor (Jim) of Franklin, GA., and Lynn Crumbley (Larry) of Sharpsburg, GA.; three grandchildren, Candy Cook (Rob) of Fayetteville, GA., Chris Crumbley (Dee) of Hampton, GA., and Braden Chancellor of Franklin, GA.; and five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Dylan, Emma, Lillie, and Bailey.
