Born to parents Stephen and Rose McQuilkin on August 18, 1963 in Chicago, IL, Jean had a deep-seated passion for all animals and devoted much of her youth to training and showing horses. As an adult, Jean launched a nonprofit rescue organization, Pet Connections, through which she was responsible for the rescue and rehabilitation of countless animals who yearned for a second chance.

A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at 12pm on Saturday, February 9th, at Franklin Funeral Home, 914 3rd St in Floresville, TX. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jean's life.

The family is beyond grateful for the condolences and ongoing support. For those who wish to send an expression of sympathy, the family has requested memorial contributions be sent in Jean’s honor to an animal charity of your choosing – examples include Animal Defense League of Texas, ASPCA, Humane Society, Farm Sanctuary, and Meadow Haven Horse Rescue.
