Jean was born in the fifties to Ronald Phillips and Mary Bullingham, she has 3 brothers and one sister Jimmy Phillips (who moved to Australia and started a family there) sadly he died in the 80's after a tragic accident. Billy Phillips who died in the 2000+, Collin Phillips who is still alive and her sister Anne Phillips who died shortly after Billy. Their childhood was tough the family started life in Mason Road in Stroud and they suffered a scandal as Mary disappeared later to of been discovered in Leeds after running away with a man known locally as the coal man. Ron was a very proud man and tried his very best to provide for 5 children in very tough times... But Jean always spoke with love about her brothers and sisters and respected the hard time her father had. But never a bad word about any of them. Unfortunately a distance grew between her and her siblings which remained all of her life creating a sadness in her, after being treated quite cruelly by all bar 1,Jimmy who she loved and missed greatly on the anniversary of his death every year she would take flowers to her father's bench in stroud cemetery, sit quietly and reminisced. All she wanted was to be loved and belong I truly hope with all my heart she now knows just how much she was and still in loved, that she always belonged with her girls all four of us.
