I met Mrs. Mikel and her beautiful daughters when Kerstin was 5 and Elise 2 years old and they have been part of our family ever since.  Mrs. Mikel was a caring, responsible and hard working mom first, and business woman second.  She travelled the world, but she always made sure her daughters were safe, loved and well cared for by family, friends and care givers that loved them and made them part of their families, as we did in the Burns home.  I pray for her, but also for Kerstin and Elise, to find peace, acceptance and keep all the wonderful memories that I am sure they both have of their beautiful mom.  May she rest in peace.

dear friend - never forgotten

I knew Jeannette when the girls were young and was blessed to have her in my life for awhile.  She was a dear friend and unfortunately we lost contact over the years of me moving - and her moving. I remember so many wonderful times - especially one occasion when her mama hand made tortillas over the burner on her stove - Jeannette and I eating them as fast as she could make them. Kersten and Elise were like my kids for awhile as I would take care of them when Jeannette traveled. Precious girls too- and I am so sorry for your loss.  It doesn't seem possible that she is gone from this earth - such a beautiful, sweet smile and spirit.  I will never forget you dear ones.  God bless you always.

I am so sad that my close cousin Jet has transitioned from this life.  We were always together, playing as children, parties as teens, and club hopping in later years, laughing and crying through rough times.  I have already mssed her as she was living in Colorado and I could not get in touch with her.  Fond memories will be with me for as long as I live.  This is a very sad day but I shall remember all the laughs, fun, and serious talks.  I am very tall and she was a lot shorter and she used to say to me "How's the weather up there?"  She wouldn't wear her glasses and would ask me how a guy loooked.  Fun times.  Goodbye to Jet, my cousin and good friend.

Jeannette was a beautiful lady inside and out...  My Mom used to take care of her kids when they were very little and we have stayed life long friends for over 45 years.  We always called her "Mrs. Mikel" back then and later when we all grew up she was known as "Jet"...  I always looked up to her and thought she was the coolest Mom.  She traveled all over the world, lived in beautifully deocorated homes and drove sporty cars... She was an experienced skiier and took her kids on many ski trips and also took them to many exotic places abroad.  She loved her family very much. Jeannette was very independant, hard working, fun loving and lived life to the fullest.  She was smart, business savy, pretty, petite and had great style.  I wanted to be just like her... After my First Communion I was later Comfirmed and I chose "Jeannette" as my Confirmation Name...  She will be forever missed... I hope all your warm memories of your Mom give you great comfort and peace during this sad time.  May God Bless you and surround you all with a comforting loving light.
