I remember them living out in Christmas in the 70’s and their dog was pregnant. We waited so long for her to go into labor. Jeannine would not leave her so one night we decided to fix dinner and just wait for her to give birth. We put down blankets and laid head to head on the floor with the dog near the entry way. She was so calm yet elated everytime another pup was born. I don’t remember how many were born, but I think the neighbors heard her excitement each time. We spent the night on the floor with all of them. She always loved her fur babies and then along came Mara. That was an amazing time.
