This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Jeff C.S. Sherer who was born on May 10, 1982 and passed away on June 2, 2011. We will remember him forever. Jeff was an above all, AMAZING soldier, but family to many. He sacrificed for his country and never thoguht twice about doing it... it is our responsibility to HONOR his LIFE, not his death. Jeff, you gave it all and we couldnt be more proud of you. I know you are looking down and smiling on us all. WE LOVE AND HONOR YOU! XO
Tributes
Leave a tributeI wonder what you would be doing now, where you would be... Who you would be married to and how many little Jeff's you would have.
I'm sorry that you never had the chance to live life to its fullest.... 10 years!! Wow it's been that long already.
As the saying goes Jeff, you are forever missed and never forgotten...
That night you were telling me how you were driving through Canada Mountains on your way to Alaska and were told it was really dangerous in that weather but you were doing it anyways! I didn't mind you waking me up to talk.... I'm glad you were too young to protest when I had you boys dress the same when I'd visit you in Washington, you sure we're a cutie your smile contagious and accent unforgettable. Oh and I can't pass kimchi in the store without being reminded of you! Ugg that smellthe kimchi not you. It's funny how little things make me laugh or smile, the tears well they are less, you know it took me awhile to be able to get through the National Anthem at the car races, not that I don't think of you but now I can smile and think of the good times.
You are a hero, you were one of a kind..
We just past the 9th Memorial Day a couple days back, sadly it's always you we have to remember. Wow 10 years! So hard to believe.
Take care of your mom, thank you both for watching over us tell her she is missed too!
Love you both

8 years ago today you left us.
Sgt Sherer - The Answering Machine
We were all standing around. Sgt Sherer was quizzing us Joes on General Knowledge, when all of a sudden my buddy Wilhlem (who was our Stryker driver at the time) yells from up front with the Styker's hood open: "HEY SGT SHERER! HOW DO YOU-" He never even finished his sentence. Sgt Sherer yelled back: "SGT SHERER ISN'T HERE RIGHT NOW. BUT IF YOU LEAVE YOUR NAME AND A BRIEF MESSAGE I'LL GET BACK WITH YOU AS SOON AS I CAN."
We all started laughing as he started to turn around with a big smile on his face. By all accounts there shouldn't've been anything Wilhelm could've said to that. But he did!
"HEY SGT SHERER! WILHELM HERE! I WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD GIVE ME A CALL BACK AT YOUR CONVENIENCE! THE STRYKER IS @#$%^&! THANKS! BEEEEEEEEEEP!"
We all start laughing SO loudly as Sgt Sherer, with a stifled grin and shaking his head walked to the front of the Stryker to help him out. That was Sgt Sherer! If you could make him laugh he couldn't be mad at you, and he'd go to hell and back to help you out and take care of you.
