It is with great sadness that the family of Jeffery Darnell Young, Jr, 44, announces he went to be with his Lord after a long struggle with a chronic health condition at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, February 16, 2018.
Known as “Puff” by close family and friends and a lifetime resident of Vineland, NJ, he was born on October 25, 1973 to the late Jeffery D. and late Terry M. (Williams) Young, Sr. He graduated from Vineland High School in 1991 and worked in the janitorial department of Lincoln Specialty Care Center before becoming an LPN in 1994. He worked numerous jobs in the nursing field before graduating from Cumberland County College as a Registered Nurse in 2005. After graduation, he began his employment at Regional Medical Center (now Inspira Health Network). Following his 6 years as a med surg nurse, he dedicated 6 more years as a board certified psychiatric-mental health nurse. His proudest accomplishment was earning Nurse of the Year in 2010. Jeffery began to court his fellow coworker, Freda Webster in late 2005 and, after an extended relationship, the two married in May 2015. Before falling ill, Jeffery enjoyed spending time with his family, hosting family/friend gatherings, and watching sports television. He loved to cook and trying new food recipes. Jeffery was known for his expansive trivia knowledge and loved for his quick wit and sarcastic humor.
Jeffery is survived by his wife (Freda); three sons Jeffery III, Justin Boyd, and Ryan Frederick; two daughters Brandy Marie, and Kathiria Marie; siblings Tiffany (David) and Ryan (Tequoyah); and a niece Tyanna Harper. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation Sat., Feb.24 from 1-2 pm with Memory Sharing at 2 pm at FERTIG FUNERAL HOME, 63 N. Main St., Mullica Hill, NJ 08062.
