This memorial website was created in memory of Jeff Totten, 53, of Bridgewater, NJ.  

Jeff, a loving father to his two boys, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on June 28, 2018 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ after a courageous battle with cancer.  Jeff was the first child of the late Robert Klotz Totten (2006) and Janet (Van Heertum) Totten (2010).  Jeff grew up in Mendham, NJ and Wilton, CT.  Jeff graduated valedictorian of Marvelwood School and received his Bachelor of Science from Wittenberg University in 1988 before his career in pharmaceutical sales.    

Compassionate, thoughtful and caring, Jeff loved spending time with his sons and was a dedicated participant in their Scouting and robotics competitions.  He enjoyed vacations with the boys at the beach in Rhode Island, skiing and cycling.  An avid runner, Jeff competed in the Boston and New York marathons.  Above all, his family meant the world to him.  He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his two children, Benjamin (19) and William (16).  He also leaves his brother Robert Van Doorn Totten of Wilton, CT, his sister Melissa Ann Hayden of Burke, VA, his beloved friend Kathy Sali of Bridgewater, NJ and lifelong friends Robert Apgar of Mendham, NJ and Ernst Wachsmuth of Chester, NJ. 

The family will hold a memorial service in celebration of Jeff's life on July 21, 2018 at the Bridgewater Manor, 1251 Route 202/206 in Bridgewater, NJ.  The ceremony will begin at 12 PM. 

Memorial donations may be made to the college education funds for Jeff's boys, Benjamin and William Totten.  Checks payable to College America -  Totten Education Fund may be provided to Roby Totten (Jeff's brother) at the service or sent to:

Jeff was a gentle soul. I have many fond childhood memories with him. He was a great first cousin. With us only 6 months apart, we were always at the same stages of life growing up. I will remember his humor, melodious voice, positive attitude, warm smile, and kind spirit. My deepest sympathy to Ben and William and the Totten family.

Jeff & I were colleagues for many years at Auxilium Pharmaceutical. Fond times remembering our business trips and the mad rush to the airport at the crack of dawn trying to get parking, go thru security and get to the gate..Sounds easy , never was... We would always laugh and be happy when we got to our destination...And at our meetings Jeff was always a good friend and helpful with company stuff..And on the way back , Jeff always kindhearted making sure I got to my car safely.

Jeff was a man with a quiet nature, a caring heart and a warm friendly smile. His love for his boys, family,nature and Gods creatures were simple rules by which he lived his life. Many parts of who he is & how he lived are easily seen in his boys Ben & Will.
