I remember Jeff from the time he was a child when his parents moved from FL to TN. My wife and I visited them on several occasions. We always enjoyed our visits. Jeff was always smiling and he, I think, loved almost everyone. Later when he grew up when we saw him he always seemed to enjoy seeing us and we were certainly so glad to spend our time with him his parents and brother. We always felt welcome at the Myers home.

So very sorry to hear of Jeff’s passing, especially for my cousins. In the obituary, his love of kids was mentioned, and that could not be more true! He was always down to rough house, play games, or just joke around with us when we were growing up. Our family is blessed to have those memories. Prayers for everyone who loved him.

We will hold our memories of you and all our family fun very close to our hearts, we have such fond thoughts! Jeff was a wonderful father, hoping his children are able to see their father’s wisdom in all they do, may each of you always feel him near you and his love give you comfort! He was definitely taken from this world way too soon. Rest In Peace Jeff!

Although I did not know Jeff very well and only met him briefly on a couple of occasions, I do know Drew very, very well. As a father it is our role to help our sons learn to grow and become men and then eventually fathers. I’ve known Drew and watched him grow up through the good and bad. I got to witness Jeff’s impact as a father on Drew. He must’ve been a great man who loved and cared for his family. I saw it first hand with Drew. I appreciated the time I was able to spend with Jeff and I know he will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace Jeff and I hope you knew that you did a great job as a dad…

At age 23, Jeff rode with four other cyclists who were also transplant recipients to raise awareness for organ transplantation. They wanted to do something physically demanding to prove that organ transplants can be successful. Earlier Memory

January 8, 2022
Before Jeff got his kidney, he was feeling pretty bad and his color was pale. I (Doug) remember he was always outside trying to get a tan but unfortunately he never got tan (funny how memories stick in your head). Jeff finally received his kidney at Vanderbilt Hospital and I remember going up there the following day to see how he was doing. What a surprise, he was as brown as a coconut! It was amazing and no doubt his kidney was working. Once he started feeling better, he decided (without letting the nurses or doctors know) to get out and take a walk outside to the restaurant across the street! I don't believe the police were called but I think they kept a close eye on him when he got back. He told me at the time he was ready to get out of that hospital room just laying around. He felt good and thought he should go for a walk.

Jeff Hiding and Recording

January 7, 2022
When I was 14 I won a state wide writing contest. During the ceremony, Jeff hid in a corner and recorded me so I wouldn’t catch him, and Djuana stole a photo of him in the process. This is so Jeff, showing love and care whether you notice it or not. Maybe a little creepy looking out of context, but so sweet when you have the full story lol
