The Best Grandfather anyone could ask for!

July 13, 2019
  • Growing up we’re definitely we’re blessed to have this man as our grandfather! I’ve learned so much from him, mainly always to greet people with a smile and a pleasant salutation. I did inherit a little of his handyman; when he had to fix something he would make sure we saw how he did it. We had what he had, one of my favorite childhood memories was him in his shed cutting wood while my sister & me had our matching hammers banging nails in to the remnants of wood. Another memory is him letting us think we bought the pool, he told us once our piggy bank was full we’re going to buy a pool; I’m pretty sure we didn’t have enough. Also we had matching shovels because we loved helping him shovel the walk way. He also made sure we had what we needed and more, trips On the Steam train or Gillette’s Castle was a reoccurring day trip during the summer or just picnics in the backyard and sitting on the front lawn with our matching lawn chairs just like his! WE HAD WHAT HE HAD! We had his heart & he’ll forever have ours!!! Love you Gramp! Now you’re with your Hun!❤️

My Hero

July 11, 2019

What makes a man a hero? That’s simple.. it’s you. Grampa you have been my hero since the day I was born. I could never thank you enough for your love, guidance, encouragement, and the occasional switch from the tree. You never let us kids down.. and we couldn’t love you more. I admit that I’m being selfish.. your 92 years on this earth wasn’t enough for me. There are too many things I will miss... How you had a joke for everything.. you lived a simple yet fulfilling life through laughter and love... I’m going to miss how you adored Trey... he was, and always will be, your sweet pea.. I’m going to miss you asking about the girls every time you would see me.. and demanding an update.. how you couldn’t wait to see the twins. I’m going to miss you converting Chip’s office into your bedroom a few days a month... how you would wait and have Chip cut your hair.. because.. well... it was free. And we all know the frugality of your life was unmatched! How you never met a stranger.. I’m going to miss having you on the holidays.. how you were our Lucy’s best bud.. you were not only my hero.. but the sweetest soul that god created.. rest easy Grampa and take care of Nana ❤️
