Her Life
December 28, 2015

Jeromee Ann Skehan, a long-time resident of Blue Bell, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 16, 2015 at the age of eighty. She was born in Washington D.C. on August 2nd, 1935 to the late Jerome Francis Skehan and Edith Roberta Worthington Skehan.  Jeromee was raised in Jenkintown, PA and graduated from Jenkintown High School.

She attended Hood College, Villanova University, Gwynedd-Mercy College, and obtained a Master’s degree from University of Pennsylvania as an advanced practice nurse specializing in child and adolescent nursing. She also graduated from the Philadelphia Family Institute with a five-year training in marriage and family therapy. She held numerous post-Master’s certificates, and possessed a life-long thirst for knowledge. She was currently in the process of obtaining her PhD in nursing from Walden University at the time of her death. She worked as a psychotherapist for several professional practices, and also maintained a private practice in Flourtown, PA.

Jeromee married Frederick Arthur Carver Baker in 1955 until their divorce in 1973; they had four children together. She then remarried in 1975 to Dr. James E. Prier, and they remained life-long friends until his death in 2012. Jeromee loved the arts, music, and was an avid reader. She was very athletic in her youth, and was an all-American high school field hockey player. Additionally, she became a ranked Middle States tennis player in singles and doubles in her mid-forties. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, and had a life-long love of animals. She will probably be best remembered for her selfless nature, generosity, positive attitude, and her witty sense of humor.

She is survived by her four grown children: Jeri Ann Baker of Erdenheim, PA, Andrew Carver Baker of Blue Bell, PA, Jeffrey Arthur Baker of Philadelphia, PA, Jennifer Kirk Mobarek of Doylestown, Pa; and her two grandchildren: Jack and Luke.
