Papa Jerry, It breaks my heart that you’ve left us. Not a day goes pass that you don’t pop up in my thoughts. I’ll cherish the moments that we shared. Last time I saw you was at miss Congo event. I sat next to you as we were the first people to arrive. Thank you for all that you’ve done. I’ll miss seeing your warm smile. May you rest in perfect peace, you’ll always remain in my heart. Firstly,

I would like to mention how grateful I am that I had the privilege to experience life with you...

Our bond is so heavily inseparable that I’m still talking to you in first person because your presence still lingers.

I like how I can still hear your voice asking me “Yaya de Papa ... how are you?”

I looked up to you, a lot. As my Father and my best-friend in blood. You made it very clear that I could tell you absolutely anything and everything without “possa ah ko yoka sonny”. Cos you are my Dad and you love me regardless.

You also taught me how important it is to live my reality with courage. Hence the name Courageous.

After a particular conversation we had on the 21st of November 2020 I really saw you as the superhero to my story...

There’s not too much for me to say as we already spoke about everything when you were alive.

Thank you for stepping up as a Father and becoming the best version of yourself. I’m proud of you, always.

Lastly, I would like to show off a perfume (G-bellini: X-bolt) I had gifted you when you were alive. You told me it was your favourite and that you wanted to buy it again but life didn’t bless you with that opportunity. So, in your honour, I will sprayed it over your coffin.

I still cannot believe you have left us , you are terribly missed. I think about how gently spoken you were you voice was so soothing and calm , I think about how you would tell me that you would always there for me if I was ill I should need you to never hesitate to call you anytime night or day and you would be there for me and if you missed my call you would get back to me as soon as possible. I’ll miss seeing you turn up on the doorstep as a surprise visit and we would sit in the lounge and tell funny jokes or stories you had a funny sense of humor, I’m glad I have wonderful memories to serve me until we meet again Rest In Peace Uncle ! 

I still cannot believe that you have left us Papa Jerry. I miss your sweet, wonderful smile and your serene voice. I cherish all your phone calls and voicemails that you left to check on your Nelia. I miss you so much and love you forever. Please rest sweetly in peace and prepare a place for us until we meet again

Thank you Papa Gerry for everything you did for me. For stepping in in place of my father at my wedding and representing me as your own. For keeping me calm when everyone knows im an over reactor lol. For mediating, for honouring my father & my mother during the wedding process. For being a voice of reason and encouragement. Dear Papa Jerry,

Firstly, I would like to say may your soul rest in peace. Secondly, I would like to thank you for always taking the time out to come & visit us. You were always so soft spoken & had the most handsome & charming smile. The small time I would spend in the living room, you would always speak pure knowledge. I’m sad you had to go so soon. But I hope you’re finally resting peacefully. You will truly be missed by many. We love you.
