His Life
November 29, 2014

Mr. Neighbors was born in Heard County Georgia on August 23, 1945, the son of the late Alma Crockett Neighbors and Lonnie Ben Neighbors. After high school he served his country honorably during the Vietnam Conflict. For his gallantry he received the MDSM, EXP (45 Pistol), VCM, VSM, 2 o/s Bars, and ARCOM awards. After returning from his war service he began his work career at the William L. Bonnell Company, Inc. He was a good, steady worker whose work ethic helped him to constantly be given more responsibility. His position in Production and Control earned him the respect of his fellow workers and company officials. It was not long before he became the Assistant Traffic Manager. At his retirement he had been transferred to the Builders Transport Company where he became the Traffic Manager. “Mr. Glen” was a kind, gentle man who spoke with a calm voice. One could not be around him long before you knew the drive behind his life was his love for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Where ever his family was participating in any event Mr. Glen was among the crowd cheering them. The lessons he taught and the love he gave to both family and co-workers will leave a permanent mark on each life he touched.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jackie Sims Neighbors of Franklin, GA.; two daughters, Lisa North (Alton) of Carrollton, GA., and Leslie Kersey of Franklin, GA.; one son, David Neighbors (Tara) of Franklin, GA.; mother-in-law, Myrle Sims also of Franklin, GA., three sisters, Grace Purvis of West Monroe, LA., Ruth Jackson, and Jeanette Williamson both of Douglasville, GA.; and eleven adored grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Harvey Neighbors.
