His Life

On September 23, 1956, in Troup County, Georgia, Mr. Lewis and Betty Faye Rutledge Tigner welcome their fourth child and name him Jerry Lewis Tigner.

Jerry attended the Troup County School system, West End High School and was a native of Hogansville, Georgia, his entire life.

At an early age, he joined Springfield Baptist Church in Hogansville, Georgia, he visit other local churches as well. Jerry was a very active individual in his community. He was known as the man to help any and everybody to do whatever needed to be done. He was one of the most kindhearted men anyone could ever meet. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing when he wasn’t enjoying what he was known for “helping” others.

In 1974, Jerry met the love of his life and best friend, Mrs. Ethelyn Tigner
where on May 4th, 1988 they were united in holy matrimony. To this union,
three beautiful daughter and two handsome sons were born.

Jerry was employed with Chip Clay for 15 years, Shawin Newnan,Georgia
for 8 years and I.S.F for 9 years.

On May 15, 2015, God saw he was getting a little weary and knew he had
completed his task here on earth. So he did what he knew was best, He
came and stood beside him and whispered “Jerry, Come go home with me,
it’s time to rest.”

He was preceded in death with his loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Betty
Faye Rutledge Tigner, sister Betty Jean Tigner, Shanelya Tigner and sister
in law Elizabeth Reeves.

To eternally cherish his memories are: his devoted and loving wife, Mrs.
Ethelyn Tigner; five children, Clinton Reeves, Monica Reeves, Peneka
Reeves, Nicole Reeves, and JerryTigner, Jr. and his loving father,Mr. Lewis
Tigner. He also leaves to cherish his memories, six loving sisters Sara Kate
Cameron, Jennie MaeTigner, Rose Tigner, BelindaTigner,Valerie (Reginald)
Jackson, Mary (Kenneth) Thornton; Three brothers, Flavis Tigner,Tyrone
Tigner and Claude (Wanda) Tigner; Two sister-in-laws, Louveina Long
and Sheryl Reeves and two brother-in-laws, Milton Reeves and Willie
Reeves; Uncles Milton Rutledge, Herman (Viola) Tigner, Norman Tigner.
Aunts Ida M. Tigner, Ruby L. Cameron, Thelma Rutledge, Annie (James)
Hall,Mandy Heard and Kattie Rutledge. also a host of nieces and nephews.
To forever cherish a good friendship, he leaves special memories to Chip
Clay, Gregory Smith and David Rutledge. He also leaves and cherish the
memories of his heart, where two special men was placed in his life that will
forever hold a special place,Mr. Robert Allen, Jr. and Chezzaray Rutledge
better known to Jerry as “my boy.”
