We brought you home with us little girl. So tiny and warm and soft you were. The biggest brown eyes you've ever seen! You even had a heart on your butt! Yes, it got distorted as you grew up, but it was always there. A dark patch in the shape of a heart right smack dab in the middle of your back! We named you Jessie. I always loved that name. Kind of tomboyish and I just knew you'd grow up a non-girly-girl. Do you remember Daddy put you in your cage that first night and then when he fell asleep, I reached in ever so quietly and pulled you out, cupped you in my arms and snuck back into bed and we curled up together like bugs in a rug? That was it! You NEVER wanted to sleep in that cage again! And so began 11 years of us making room for you in the bed so you would be comfortable. You were our little heater. You were our heart. From that first day to the last day, you owned us completely. We can never forget you! Our baby girl, Jessie.
