Megal was my first cousin, although we were cousins we were raised as if we were siblings. He was always the one who made everything a joke even in the darkest times. No matter what he always knew of a way to put a smile on our family’s faces. There isn’t a day that passes that I don’t think of the days spent at our mawmaw Patty’s house, watching cartoons before getting on the school bus, playing video games together with Hunter and his brothers, or just hanging out and doing stupid stuff in the yard. After all, Megal is not an easy person to forget. He was the kind of guy that just gave a lasting impression even if you only met him once. He always gave me advice and stood up for me when I needed him. He was the best cousin, and big brother, I could have ever asked for. I am so lucky to have known him, and my heart aches every day that comes to pass that I realize I won’t get to hang out with him anymore. I loved him more than I could ever put into words. I just know that he would have gone on to do wonderful things with his life. I am thankful, though, that I had the pleasure to be a part of his life.
