Miss those days on the farm!

It isn't the farm that makes the farmer.
It's the love, hard work and character. You sure set the bar high!

Jim could cook!
Jim could really cook....guess he got that from grandma bihl. I am sure the kids remember blueberry pancakes. I still make the spagetti sauce he used to fix, you put sugar in it! And the pig roasts ....delicious!! Mary Lou ...do you remember taking the pigs head and breaking in Kevin Greens house and putting it in their bed!!??
Bihl Farms
Gosh..where do you begin to talk about the history of Bihl Farms. I think it would go back maybe to Jims great grandpa. It was a staple of the Burg community. Pick your own strawberries is the best memory for me. It was just an exciting time. The guys would stay up all nite irrigating the strawberries when it got too cold. Ice would form on the plants which would insulated them and protect the crop. Then when time to pick..........people would line up sometimes to Lick Run to pick em. The farm market was right there with all kinds of stuff to buy..........plants ...seeds...flowers...and for people who didnt want to pick...strawberries. I bet every high school kid from that time worked on the farm during this busy 4 to 6 weeks. we had yummy blueberries too. Earlier the kids would have steer and go to 4-H with them....I think the Bihl kids always placed pretty high at the fair. Well....the tradition goes back to Jim...Joe....Barb....and Mary LOu. Gosh the good ole days....can you imagine taking time these days to go pick strawberries and blueberries??!!
