Harold James (Jim) Hall Jr. died peacefully in his sleep following a short illness, in Sun City West, AZ, surrounded by his family on February 12, 2017. He was 83 years old.

Jim was born on April 11, 1934 in Detroit, MI to Harold and Alice Hall. He attended Cleary College where he earned an Accounting Degree before joining his father in the family’s electrical contracting business, Hall Engineering Company, where he enjoyed a long career, moving up the ranks to become president before moving to Arizona in the early 1980’s. He continued his business career in Arizona where he enjoyed many years working with his son Jay at Harco Metal Products, the tube and pipe bending business they built together.

Jim was a charitable man with a fondness for charities that helped animals, children, the military, police and firefighters. He was very proud of his father’s involvement in founding the 100 Club of Detroit which helped the widows of firemen and policemen. Jim was involved in the charity too and he continued to support them through the 100 Club of Arizona in later years.

Jim was a devoted family man who celebrated 62 years of loving marriage to his wife Betty. Their undying love and affection for each other was apparent to everyone who met them. They were inseparable in life and their love remains inseparable in death.

Jim enjoyed many hobbies and he was an accomplished photographer, watercolor painter and golfer, winning many golf tournaments and trophies over the years. He was committed to providing a lifetime of wonderful experiences for his family. Over the years they enjoyed summers at a beach cottage, winters skiing in northern Michigan and Colorado and many memorable vacations traveling across the country to visit national parks and monuments and the Spokane World Fair. He taught his children to be self sufficient, loving, caring and considerate of others by his actions throughout his life.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Betty; his daughter, Karen Sarraga of Sayville, NY, his son, Harold James (Jay) Hall III of Scottsdale, AZ; and his three grandchildren, Alex, Taylor and Lauren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Alice Hall and his brother William (Bill) Hall.
