This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Jim Hecht, 67 years old, born on October 11, 1954, and passed away on June 14, 2022. He is proceeded in death by his parents Dorothy and Monte Hecht. He is survived by his daughters Nikki Hecht, Jennifer (Dereck) Tveitbakk, sister Jane Steinauer, brother Bill (Nel) Hecht, nephews Andrew Steinauer, Jon Hecht, and nieces Michelle Steinauer and Joy Hecht. 3 grandchildren Kelsey, Makayla, and Dylan Tveitbakk.

Jim served his country in the US Air Force. It was during his time in the military that he discovered his love of motorcycles.

Jim loved riding his motorcycle and camping. He rode his motorcycle across the country hitting both coasts and Canada twice. He was a huge jazz and blues fan and would often blast BB King, Dave Koz, Buddy Guy and Joe Bonamassa on those cross country treks. He also was a great concert buddy and shared his love of jazz and blues with daughter Nikki.

He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Neighbors, stranded motorists, fellow motorcycle riders even his own daughters on more than one occasion especially the oldest one who thought having a sporty car with rear wheel drive was a good idea in her twenties. (He made her get a responsible car after the 4th time he pulled her out of the snow that year)  He never met a stranger and he loved good and bad dad jokes!

He will be missed greatly by all that new him.
