Mr. Jim Kenney 91 of LaFayette died Friday January 9, 2015 at the Bethany House Hospice.  

He was born in Hope Arkansas to James Nathaniel Kenney, Sr. and Lois Westerman Kenney. He attended the University Of Georgia, was in the Merchant Marines as a radio operator during WWII, and was a civilian flight instructor for Southern Airways School in Bambridge, Georgia during the Korean War(1950-1953) he was a captain for Eastern Airways from 1956 to 1984, had been manager of the Lanett airport, was owner of Lanett Air Service, was in Who's Who of aviation, soaring society of America, life member of airline pilot association, the national aeronautic association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and is wife Margaret (Peggy) Wood Kenney. Survivors are his 2 daughters Martha Kenney (Gary) West of Knoxville, Tn., Karen Kenney of LaFayette, Al., grandchildren-Alex West of Savannah, Ga., Lauren West of Portland, Or., Jared Daye of LaFayette, Al., Cameron Daye of Santa Cruz,Ca., sister-Janelle Kenney Ragan of Albany, Ga., Numerous nieces & nephews.
