Dear Larry, another year of you in heaven. How lucky heaven is to feel your joy and infectious laugh. How lucky your are to be in heaven with your beloved family and friends. Miss you buddy.
I had a high school friend named Martha Xanders who was dating a guy from the other side of town named Larry Norman. One beautiful summer day,was walking down the street and heard a motorcycle, turned my head and saw Larry, who waved, with a good looking guy on the back. 10 minutes later got a call from Martha who asked if I was interested in Larry s friend Art Tuddy Johnson. I said yes, and it was love at first sight. The four of us spent alot of time together,we even doubled for Prom. But then something terrible happend Viet Nam,both guys served, and all of us lost contact. I moved to Old Town in Chicago, went home to the Harbor ,and saw Larry again, He just ended a mistake marriage, and was depressed. So he came back to Chitown with me to lick his wounds. It was the wild 60s,and we had a ball. Eventually he went back home, but he needed space. He decided to start driving untill he found a new home,he found Denver. We lost touch for 30 yrs., but saw his brother Kevin's name on the internet, and he helped us reconnect. He was very happily married to his beautiful wife, with grandchildren he adored. We swapped stories, tales of grandkids, people from our past. I enjoyed evey email. Then one terrible day I got a call from Mark, with the bad news of his passing. My mind says he is in a better place, but miss his laugh every day. Every persons life was enriched by knowing him. Sorry it took so long to put into words how I felt about a good friend.
I will always remember you, for how happy you made my friend Bobbi, for your generosity when the two of you invited me to your home to celebrate holidays;never made me feel like the 'odd party out'! And you are truly missed, Jim, by so many...including me.
Happy Birthday, brother "Larry" (aka: Jim) - Mark and I are together in the "Big Easy" today remembering you (I'll eat more than usual and throw some money away at the casino in honor of just two of the things all of us always enjoyed doing together!).
Bobbi, Tonight I am sending love, because it is your Anniversary Day even if Jim is not physically here, he still loves his sweet sweet one and that sweet sweet one is you. God Bless You and your family. I care. XXXXOOOO Love Chris and Janice
love how you made my friend Bobbi so happy, Jim...you had a gift for making everyone feel special and important! I sincerely appreciate having known you and will always consider you a friend...
Never will forget the special times out...especially turning onto the one-way street downtown one night. Speer Blvd should change its name to Norman!!!
They say it's a beautiful journey From the old world to the new Someday we'll make that journey Which will lead us straight to you And when we reach that garden In which there is no pain We'll put our arms around you And never part again
Larry, as I always knew him, made me laugh a lot! I will always remember him for his his boundless enthusiasm for the people and things he was passionate about. He was the big brother I always wished I'd had.
