James Joseph Pezzetti

November 3, 1920- February 23, 2011

James Joseph Pezzetti was born on a farm in Dallas Township, Iowa and moved to Miami in 1952 where he built his home & raised his family.  He moved to Vero Beach in 1981 and has resided in Spanish Lakes Country Club in Ft. Pierce since 1984.

He believed strongly that what you give in life is what you will receive.  He was the recipient of a purple heart after he was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.  When he returned home, he built a career at Northwest Airlines in St. Paul,  National Airlines in Miami and then with the U.S. Postal Service in Vero Beach.

Jim will always be remembered as a wonderful friend, husband, father and grandfather.  His friends remember him for his winning spirit on the shuffleboard court or the golf course and he was always up for a game of cards or a trip to the casino.  His children will always treasure family trips to the Keys and his grandchildren will never forget family breakfasts and barbecues. We will each treasure the beautiful personalized crafts and needlepoint pictures that he created for us.

James Pezzetti was a man of integrity.  He believed it was important to be honest, help people if you can, treat others with respect, be firm but fair and never prejudge anyone.

Survivors include his wife Gillie, sister Mary Konrad, daughter Chiri Johnson & son Rocky of Vero Beach, daughter Marcia Oltz of Clermont; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Rita Kissinger, and their infant son, James Everett.

Memorial Services will be held March 14th at 11:00 a.m. Lakewood Park United Methodist Church located at 5405 Turnpike Feeder Rd., Ft. Pierce, Fl.  34951.
