Pretty Sweet
I've been friends with Susie since junior high, and my daughters and I visited her and Jim many times. He always greeted us warmly with, "Oh God, you people again?" And then he'd ask, "Where are you staying?" and act miserable when I said, "Here, of course." But then he'd make a great dinner for us and made sure we had everything we needed. He liked to appear tough, but I think he was secretly pretty sweet.
Knew words
