Breckenridge, Jimmie Lee, 72, of Arcadia, FL, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015.  Born on February 16, 1943 to the late Ralph and Estalee (Fairchild) Breckenridge in Akron, Ohio, Jimmie’s family moved to Florida when he was a young teenager.  On August 19, 1962, he married Linda “Carol” (Bankston) Breckenridge in Lake City, Florida.

In 1973, Jimmie and his family moved to Homestead, FL where he made careers in the airline industry (United States Air Force, Braniff International Airways, Air Florida and Eastern Airlines), computer programming (University of Miami Dermatology Department) and radio technology (Cooper General).  Jimmie was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, loved every stray animal that crossed his path, and will always be remembered smoking his favorite pipe.

Jimmie leaves behind Carol, three children, Theresa (Jeff) Malley of Homestead, FL, Melanie (Terry) Crosby of Burns, TN, and John Breckenridge of Miami, FL; five grandchildren, Vincent and Spencer Crosby, Lauren Breckenridge, and Clemmie and Dylan Malley; a brother, Donald Breckenridge of Lake City, FL; and a sister, Linda (Breckenridge) Soride of Fort White, FL.  He is preceded in death by his brothers, Danny Breckenridge and Teddy Montgomery.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 18, at 1 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Wauchula, FL, with the Rev. Danielle Upton officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Alzheimer’s Research at www.alz.org.
