JIMMY CHARLES CARVIN was the youngest child born to the late Mr. Willie Lee Carvin (Joe Blue) and Dorothy Mae Townsend Carvin on September 19, 1942 in Pike County, Alabama.

He was educated in the Pike County school system and graduated from Shellhorn High School.

He joined Mt Olive Baptist Church #3 at an early age and served faithfully until his earthly journey came to an end on November 28, 2014.

Jimmy C. joined the United States Army, and was stationed
in Nurnberg Germany before his deployment to
Vietnam in 1966. Once he returned to the States he attended
Trenholm State Technical School, and acquired a
trade in brick masonry. He became an extremely skilled
mason and worked on several major jobs throughout the
Southeastern United States. He took great pride in his
trade but was extremely proud of his contributions to
the Civil Rights Institute in Birmingham, AL and Alabama
State University’s Acadome in Montgomery, Alabama.
He loved hunting, fishing, drag racing and spending
time with his family and friends.

Jimmy C. leaves to cherish his memories his wife Mary
Richards Carvin, Troy AL, his two daughters from that
union Tracy D. Carvin and Stacy A. Carvin – Turner (the
Late Billy C. Turner) both of Birmingham, Alabama, and
also Lavaron, Gabriel, April, Megan, and Miyosha, his
loving mother Dorothy Mae Townsend Carvin, Montgomery,
AL, brothers Willie Joe Colvin (Mamie Jean)
Fitzpatrick, AL, Arthur Berry (Darlene) Montgomery,
AL, sister Maenolia McGraw (Late Lawrence McGraw),
Talladega, Alabama, a favorite niece and nephew Rita
Colvin-Brye and Jimmy (Big Jim) Brye, Newnan, GA, a
host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law,
sisters-in-law, relatives and friends.
