To My Dad,

I could not have ask for a more wonderful father. From the earliest days I can remember, you were there for me, at every life event, no matter how big or small. You and mom always showed us unconditional love. You were my pillar of strength and my guiding light. You taught us all so much that only a loving father can do. In my prayers, I thank God for being the luckiest woman in the world to have you as my dad. A man who gave so much to his family and who loved his country like no other. You shared your passion and though we didn't always agree, I always looked up to you. Even in your very last days, you could make us laugh at the drop of a hat. What an amazing man. I am so thankful for you. How I will miss those wonderful big hugs and your beautiful smile. I know not a day will go by that I don't think of you, and I know, someday, we will all be together again. I love you always dad.

I only knew Jim through seeing him drop in to my DMV for his work. He was always so nice to us and always had candy in his pocket to share. He will be missed and he reminded me of my father. So sorry for your loss and he will be missed. God bless!

“What a guy” I had the privilege working with Jim at IBM.
I remember him as a positive, and gentle man, my thoughts and prayer go out to his family.
Sincerely,
Becky Goodner

Always my big brother ... Always proud to call you my big brother ... you led the way as siblings for Bud and me. I am sure he would agree. We always knew you were the one in charge and the one we all looked to when it was just the three of us. Thanks for always standing up for what is right and passing on to all of the courage to stand firm in our convictions ... love you always, your one and only little sister. the one you would tease and hold up over our local ditch to let me know how strong you were. You married my best friend from high school and together raised a family that loves you and always felt that same strength and steadfastness.  love you more than you could ever know

Dad,
No words can express how much I miss you or what a difference you made in everyones life that you touched from family to friends and co-workers to strangers. You taught us by example to work hard and the importance of family and friends.
You always said your father wanted you to grow bigger and better Clark's. Well, you and mom have continued to fulfill his wish in looking at my siblings and your grandchildren.
I will always cherish our time together especially all the fishing trips and time spent doing woodworking.
Thank you and I love you always, Chris

It never ceased to amaze me that every time I was around Jim I learned something new. Thanks for being an amazing mentor to Justin and I. You will be missed.

Until We Meet Again

November 6, 2014

We think about you always,
we talk about you still,
you have never been forgotten, Dad
and you never will.
We hold you close within our hearts,
and there you will remain,
To walk and guide us through our lives
until we meet again.

God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be.
So He closed his arms around you
And whispered, Come to Me.

You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.

And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain,
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

What Makes a Dad

January 8, 2014

What Makes a Dad?

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities,
And then there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it - Dad.
