Love you grandpa , even though I haven't met you I knew You truly were a special Man,it hurt so bad to see the father of my amiable boss passed on!! But your memories would always live on within us. Thank you for your care, love and everything that you have done for your family. I know you are in a much better place now.. rest on daddy!!
Tribute to my brother Jimoh Abiodun Akinboro- Your Spirit I know that no matter what You will always be with me, and us When life separates us I’ll know it is only your soul Saying goodbye to your body But your spirit will be with me and us always.
we were 12 siblings from our mother, but I grew to meet and know my sister Fatimo and brother Biodun. I remember our growing up years how we used to travel to Agege to pay him visits during his stay with his late Uncle till he won a scholarship to depart to Bulgaria. I fondly remember Biodun saying to our mum, that he will wave to say goodbye before he enters the plane, which he did, my mother cried like a newborn baby.
During his stay in Bulgaria, our mum will send him pepper, fried meat, stock fish, tinko meat and other foodstuffs. He was always writing us letter with pictures of his living in a strange land. I recalled a time he sent pictures of himself skating on the ice, Our mum couldn’t sleep for weeks, thinking of possible of accident.
My brother was very focus and determined, he placed huge value on education, He was very hard working and started working to support himself very early in life. He worked in Wahum packaging Limited, doing long hours, shortly after his school certificate. He gave all his first earnings to our mum. He never allowed any challenges of life to deter his ambitions, at the time, he was the first I see reading daily like he was about to write examination.
My brother was the first in many things, the first graduate in the family, the first to travel overseas, he was the first to have a white wedding and many other first. Biodun was honest to a fault, his integrity is of the highest order, hence people trusted him with assets and responsibilities. When you transact business with him, you can be rest assured your money is safe in his hand. In the years I grow to know him well, I have never heard anyone accusing him of impropriety, he was an upright man, with high rectitude.
When I see a bird chirping on a nearby branch I will know it is you singing to me. When a butterfly brushes gently by me so care freely I will know it is you assuring me you are free from pain. When the gentle fragrance of a flower catches my attention I will know it is you reminding me To appreciate the simple things in life.
When the sun shining through my window awakens me I will feel the warmth of your love. When I hear the rain pitter patter against my window sill I will hear your words of wisdom And will remember what you taught me so well’ That without rain trees cannot grow Without rain flowers cannot bloom Without life’s challenges I cannot grow strong. Without education I can’t be somebody.
When I look out to the sea I will think of your endless love for your family. When I think of mountains, their majesty and magnificence I will think of your courage for your country. No matter where I am Your spirit will be beside me and us For I know that no matter what You will always be with me and us.
This is no gainsaying the fact, my respect and love for you. Your words to our mum in the year 1979 still resonate in my mind ‘’ Let him go school and get education, going to learn a trade or Vocation will not take him anywhere’’ I obeyed your advice and I have acquired loads of knowledge and certificates and I am grateful to you and will always be.
Heaven have gained a gentle soul. Rest well by beloved Brother
I might have not seen you before but was really looking forward to seeing the father of an amazing 'boss like sister' of mine... I can imagine how great and sweet a father you have been. Rest well daddy! YOU LIVED!
Keep resting daddy. We love you. Jumoke spoke a lot about you when we were roommates and I know for sure you were a great father to her and everyone else around you. God knows best. Continue to rest peacefully in the bossom of the Lord.
