My Great Friend

Frequently think of Jim not only on special days. So great to have known him for so long from high school throughout life. An officer and a gentlemen, bar none. He had an open and accepting laugh/smile that made one feel interesting, important and part of whatever was going on. PS He won our science fair project as seniors (1961). His subject was Cryogenics, quite boundary pushing at the time (although with Jim, it could just have easily been binomial numbers and computer decision protocol). I think Jim studied Actuarial Science as an undergraduate, kind of arcane at the time, but an enlightened choice given what was coming. Undoubtedly a theoretical and actual underpinning of AI today.
