Jo Ann was born to the late Miles and Jimmie L. Barker on April 4, 1945, in Turin, Georgia.  She departed this life February 19, 2013 at her home in Lithonia, Georgia.

Jo Ann attended Grantville Brown Elementary School in Grantville, Georgia.  At an early age she joined Mt. Prospect Baptist Church, Moreland, Georgia.  She was employed at Quest Diagnostic Center for over thirty years.

Leaving to cherish her memories: Her husband, Mr. Myron Houston; a God daughter, Lisa Phillips; two sisters, Earlene Barner, Jeannie Pace (Ivory) Barnes; a brother-n-law, Herman Houston; a host of nieces and nephews.
