I met Jo when she began working at Methodist Hospital Lab, not long after Randy was born. We became steadfast friends immediately. She was so full of life, so funny, so beautiful and so very very intelligent. We had so many "adventures" in those days in Lubbock. I remember the night we set up a tent in her backyard so her two girls and my two boys (all about the same age) could "camp out". A few hours later they all came rushing into the house, as they had been telling ghost stories and scared themselves silly.
Of all of her marvelous skills and talents I loved her "turkey walk" the most. It always made me laugh so hard. We stayed in touch after we both left Lubbock but weren't able to see each other as often as I wish. I went with her to Las Vegas once, and we watched the people waddle out of the all-you-can-eat buffet, laughing at them, then proceeded to eat until WE waddled out, laughing at ourselves. Jo was many things to many people, for me she was joy and laughter, love and kindness, and a sister-hood that will go on forever.
I love you, I've always loved you Josephus.
My heart goes out to Sandra, Lori and Randy, as well as Mike and Sue.
