Hello mum. Sitting on my bed thinking about you, this is getting quite a regular occurrence now. You used to tell me that I wouldn't understand what being a mother felt like until I had children, and grand children, of my own. You and dad must be giggling up there as you watch me making some duff decisions. But as you watch over me I hope you are feeling a sense of pride. I was so very lucky to have had you in my life for so many years. Such precious memories.

You must be giggling at all the mistakes I've made. But I hope you are as proud of me, as I am of you. I have so much to thank you for, but most of all for loving me. Just the way I am. Love you xxx

I loved my mum so much. She was gracious, kind, beautiful, and a wonderful mother. She always sought the best in people, and i never once saw her angry or flustrated. She loved us with all her heart, and only ever wanted the best for us. Her father John Hetherington was an educated articulate man, and mum inherited his brains and his looks. Mums mother died when she was eight months old so she never knew a mothers love. Sleep tight

You will always be with me, and i hope you are looking down on me with pride. I am looking forward to the day when we can sit on a cloud with a cup of tea reminising about my wonderful childhood. Give dad a hug from me and tell him i love him. Sweet dreams. Safe at last in his loving arms xxxx

From a humble beginning, with a stepmother who treated her badly. she then found the strength to leave at 16 and go to Moreton to live with her aunt, which must have taken great strength of character.. She was a telephonist during the war, then joined the ATS and was in military service. She met dad during leave from the forces, in a little place called Oswestry, They had 4 children Michael Doreen and later in life Jill, Catherine was still born something mum never quite got over. While i am still alive, i will treasure the memories of my childhood, and keep them safely tucked away in this little old heart of mine, until we have a cuddle again. Always remember that you left behind a wonderful legacy of warmth and love. You where one of a kind mum, and i love you today as much as ever. See you soon xxxx
