JoANNE M. JACOBOSN

            Our beloved Mother JoAnne Jacobson, daughter, wife, mother of three, grandmother to eight and dear friend to so many-passed away peacefully in her home on August 23, 2011 at the age of 82. Her son Russ Jacobson, of Scotts Valley, her daughter Lynne Tressler of Soquel and her daughter Sandi Jacobson-Vanni of Aptos were each present and held her hand as she made her final journey home. Her exit was as sweet and lovely as she was her entire life.

            She was born June 1, 1929 to Alexander and Rose Russell in San Francisco, California. She continued living in San Francisco until her senior year in High school, at which point she moved with her family to Southern California. She was a graduate of UCLA in Public Relations and Advertising. During that time she was set up on a blind date by dear friends, where she met the “love of her life,” Carl Jacobson who was a graduate of USC. They were married February 3, 1951. They made their home in Southern California. Their eventual move to Los Altos, California in 1972 was where they raised their family and made that their home. Her loving husband passed away on November 28, 1996. She eventually moved closer to her children in Santa Cruz and made her new home at Dominican Oaks.

            JoAnne will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend. After her career in Advertising she devoted her life to her family. She instilled in all of us to treat others as you would like them to treat you, to be gracious, humble and honest. Live your life without regret and to love unconditionally. We are all better people for having this beautiful lady in our lives. She will be missed so very much.

            She is survived by her three children, Russell Eric Jacobson, Lynne Tressler and Sandra Jacobson-Vanni, her son-in-law, Robert Tressler, and grandchildren, Eric Allen Jacobson, Rich Brigham IV, Alexa Rae Vanni, Mitchell William Hayes, Mathew Russell Vanni, Adelyn Rose Hayes, Jake Anthony Vanni and Carly Anne Seuberth and her nephew, Thomas Russell and her niece, Lani Russell. She was preceded in life by her Mother Rose P. Russell, her father Alexander A. Russell, and her beloved husband, Carl “Jake” Jacobson, and her brother Richard A. Russell.

            Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of those who where such an integrate part in caring for our Mother with such complete devotion and compassion.

            The family is suggesting that donations be made to the charity of your choice or flowers may be send in her honor to the Memorial Service at Chaminade Resort. Friends are invited to join JoAnne’s family in a celebration of her life at 2:00pm, September 10, 2011 at Chaminade in Santa Cruz, California. May God bless her and keep her safe in His arms.
