Job excelled in her subjects of Geological Hazards, and cared a lot about the decline of our coastal heritage. She enjoyed visiting sites of historical interest and went on to become the youngest female to embark on studying Geological Hazards. Jo made lots of friends at Uni, most of whom I am still in contact with. I can’t remember much of what Jo got up to during those years of studying, ( but mostly Partying!!) But we do know during those early years , she was incredibly home sick, she missed her family terribly, she said one weekend “ if I come home at the weekend , I know I won’t go back, we said we’d come to her but again she said No please don’t, I’ll be ok, I’ll get through this. And she did! That shows the amazing amount of strength and determination that Jo had , little did we know at that time, just how much she would put those two words into practice again. Jo finished at University after 3 years of studying with a degree in Geography/ Science/ and Geological Hazards, and her future lay ahead of her. She decided Portsmouth was going to be her home, it’s where she was happiest. After growing up in a small village in Codicote, the hussle and bustle of Portsmouth won hands down. I cried so much on the way home, my little girl had grown up to be an independent, strong and determined woman.
